Pitstops

If you're starting from Houston and headed...

North
I-20 & US 271:
Near Tyler: Texas Smokehouse. Gas, multiple clean bathrooms, warm greeting, and homemade BBQ (or an attached Sonic if you're feeling less adventurous).

I-45:
Madisonville: Buc-ees

Centerville: Highway 7, Eastside of 45: Woody's Smokehouse. Gas, multiple clean bathrooms, homemade food, and delicious looking cakes!

I-59:
South Corrigan: Shell station with attached Whataburger. Clean restrooms.

South
I-59:
Wharton: Buc-ees

Refugio:

East
I-10:
East of Baytown, exit #803: Crawdads Gas, multiple clean crawpotties, attached restaurant.

Orange, exit #869: Crawdads Gas, multiple clean crawpotties, attached restaurant

West
I-10:
Luling: Buc-ees

US 290:
Waller: Buc-ees The newest one, opened in 2013; includes a beaver statue.

Brenham: Westwood Travel Center Gas, clean restrooms, and a sandwich shop attached.

Giddings:
Buc-cees The smallest Buc-ees. I have had to wait in line for the restroom on more than one occasion.
Reba's: the south side of 290 in the middle of Giddings. Stop here for local food and free WiFi (not the best place for the restroom and no gas).
